Kidz In The Hall and Reebok Remix Special Ed’s “I Got It Made”

Kidz In The Hall and Reebok have joined forces with Reebok to create The Classic Remix Collection, an initiative that allows emerging Hip-Hop talents re-interpret timeless rap records.

The effort has produced a remix of “I Got It Made,” an iconic 80’s record by rapper Special Ed.

The latest version of the 1989 song will only be available for consumers that purchase the Reebok Classic Remix collection on March 10, 2009 exclusively at Foot Locker retailers.

Next month, Roots frontman Black Thought will star in actor Mark Webber’s anticipated independent film Explicit Ills.

The drama revolves around characters in four interconnected stories trying to succeed in Philadelphia amid struggles with love, drugs, and poverty.

Black Thought (Tariq Trotter) plays the role of Kaleef, a fledgling entrepreneur who labors to get his health store off the ground while finding romance with a single mom (Naomie Harris).

McNally Smith Offers Nation’s First Hip-Hop Diploma

McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota is introducing a new Hip-Hop Studies Diploma program, which will start with the September, 2009 semester.

The program, which spans three semesters and can be completed in one calendar year, will be the nation's fist accredited, college-level diploma.

The courses will be taught by "leading hip-hop practitioners, including rapper/activist Toki Wright, who is coordinator of the new degree program, as well as an instructor.

Chris Brown’s court case for alleged domestic abuse against Rihanna could be pushed back to allow police time to gather more evidence against the pop singer, according to the Los Angeles district attorney

“We don’t have the evidence yet. (Detectives) are still investigating. If they determine they need more time they’ll set a new date for him to come into court,” said Los Angeles district attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison reads. “He only has to come back if and when we file charges.”
